WynnBET Inks Deal With Memphis Grizzlies Ahead Of Launch

The upcoming WynnBET online gambling platform is deepening its connection to the state of Tennessee ahead of its sportsbook launch, which still doesn’t have a firm date. The sportsbook announced a marketing deal with the the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies.

The platform belongs to Las Vegas-based casino operator Wynn Resorts, which doesn’t have a casino in the Volunteer State. Under the 2019 Sports Gaming Act, it doesn’t need one. The state has zero casinos.

The deal is for multiple seasons, according to a presser. Other terms of the deal were not announced.

Inside the arena where the Grizzlies play, basketball fans will see a WynnBET-branded lounge.

Nowhere in the announcement was the word “exclusive” used, as the Grizzlies have a similar arrangement with FanDuel, which is already live in the state. FanDuel, along with three others, launched on Nov. 1. The four books have taken more than $500 million in bets collectively since launch.

Tennessee will be WynnBET’s fourth state, assuming its launch is successful. It is currently live in New Jersey, Colorado, and Michigan. It’s also looking to join the markets in Virginia, Iowa, and Indiana, among others.

The Grizzlies are currently in ninth place in the Western Conference. Sportsbooks in the state weren’t particularly high on the team heading into the season, but they will of course remain a popular betting pick locally.

While the Grizzlies are a strong partner with which to link, the NFL’s Tennessee Titans are a bigger brand. They linked up with BetMGM in a similar marketing deal.
