**DraftKings Sportsbook is not yet live in Tennessee. November 1st is the current target date for market launch.
DraftKings Sportsbook TN Review & Promo Code
DraftKings has been a household name for most Tennessee sports fans since it bombarded NFL broadcasts with advertisements throughout the 2014 football season. In just a few years time the company has gone from daily fantasy sports startup to a publicly traded sportsbook and casino. Now, DraftKings is set to be one of the first legal online sportsbooks in Tennessee when wagering begins in late 2020.
Like all Tennessee sportsbooks, DraftKings will only be available online. Tennessee bettors won’t be able to enjoy the thrill of cashing a winning ticket in person, but, eligible residents and guests will be free to place a wager over the internet throughout the state – from Bristol to Memphis.
DraftKings TN Bonus Offer
DraftKings has one of the industry’s better new customer bonus offers. In other states of operation DraftKings sportsbook gives new customers a risk-free bet, and expect Tennessee’s DK offering to do the same. First-time bettors that accept the bonus will have their initial bet refunded, up to $500, if the result goes the wrong way. The bonus is paid out as a free bet and must be used within 30 days of the initial wager.
New customers can also use a deposit bonus. DraftKings typically has an ongoing deposit offer that consists of a 20% match up to $500, meaning a $2,500 deposit would give the player the maximum $500 bonus.
Notably, this bonus requires a 25X play-through requirement, one of the highest rates of any sportsbook. This means that a player that takes the maximum $500 bonus on a $2,500 deposit would have to wager $12,500 before they could withdraw their bonus funds. Bets on odds greater than -300 are not counted toward the play-through requirement; for example, a bet on the Tennessee Volunteers football team to beat a cupcake likely wouldn’t qualify.

When Will DraftKings Sportsbook Launch in Tennessee?
Legal Tennessee online sports betting will begin in fall 2020, with a Nov. 1 target launch date. The first bet will likely come roughly eighteen months after state lawmakers approved legal wagering, one of the longest turnaround times of any state in the country from passage to inaugural wager. By comparison, other states have taken as little as three months.
At least four bookmakers (including DraftKings) expect to launch on Tennessee’s first legal sports betting day. Tennessee’s untethered structure theoretically means an uncapped number of sportsbooks could enter the state, but high taxes and the hold mandate could dissuade would-be market entrants.
Either way, the fact that Tennessee will have legal sports wagering at all is one of the more unlikely developments in the early days of legal U.S. sports betting. Whenever it officially arrives, it’s a win for TN sports bettors.
The Road to TN Online Sports Betting
In the years since the Supreme Court struck down the federal wagering ban, PASPA, roughly two dozen states passed some sort of sports betting bill and at least a dozen more have considered legislation to do so. Few – if any – were as politically and culturally conservative as Tennessee, one of the last remaining states without any casinos.
A bipartisan, bicameral group of lawmakers pushed through sports betting legislation in 2019, showing skeptical colleagues that billions of dollars were bet annually in Tennessee through offshore sites and unlicensed bookmakers. A regulated market, backers successfully argued, would mean consumer protections for bettors and tax revenue for the government.
Thanks to an unusual structure in the state constitution, Gov. Bill Lee, a gambling opponent, was effectively unable to veto the bill, and Tennessee sports betting was technically legalized in April 2019. When all is said and done it will end up taking an additional year-and-a-half before Tennessee sees its first legal bet.
Online-Only Sports Wagering, Rulemaking
Without the traditional gaming structures such as casinos or horse tracks common in other states, Tennessee lawmakers created the nation’s first “untethered” online market. Sportsbook operators don’t have to partner with land-based gaming facilities to enter the state. However, the lack of traditional gaming infrastructure bogged down the ensuing regulatory implementation process. The Tennessee Education Lottery (TEL) is overseeing the industry as the only existing gaming entity in the state.
After roughly a year of rulemaking and on the behest of elected officials, the TEL promulgated controversial provisions for sports betting on top of the initial law, including an unprecedented 10% hold mandate. This means Tennessee sportsbooks will be required to hold at least 10% of total handle, whereas sportsbooks historically hold between 5% and 7%. How this plays out for bettors remains to be seen, but it could hurt overall pricing and lines, or limit bonuses in order to reach the higher hold threshold.
DraftKings Reputation: Another Titan in TN
The 2014 marketing blitz from DraftKings and DFS rival FanDuel throughout Tennessee, and across the nation, made the two companies household names seemingly overnight. However, it also sparked government oversight that nearly led to their demise. Five years on the two have engrained themselves in the American sports fan’s collective psyche, the DFS titans are now two of the biggest names in iGaming.
For years Daily Fantasy Sports walked a fine line as a game of chance (gambling), and a game of skill. As a result, some states banned DFS, some legalized them, and many others left DFS operators in legal limbo.
The May 2018 repeal of the federal sports wagering ban, PASPA, allowed each state to take legal sports bets if it chose to do so. Gaming-friendly states such as New Jersey and Pennsylvania quickly moved to approve sports betting – and DraftKings sportsbook was there from the start.
Having built up priceless name recognition (and a massive customer base) through its DFS ad blitz, DraftKings had an early leg up in the U.S. sports betting race. Now able to actively and legally promote gambling, DraftKings quickly became one of the highest-grossing sportsbooks in the new era of legal U.S. sports betting.
Now DraftKings operates online sportsbooks in numerous states and retail books in a handful more. Along with Tennessee, the company is also expected to launch soon in both Michigan and Virginia, and expects to be a major player in as many as two dozen more states that are considering legal sports betting.
On top of its brand recognition, DraftKings has developed one of the most robust sports betting operations in the industry. Despite being a relative newcomer to single-game wagering, DraftKings has been able to fight off veteran European bookmakers such as William Hill and Betfair, thanks to its wide range of bets, contests, betting pools, bonuses, and promotions.
Simply put, DraftKings has one of the nation’s best sports betting products and will be a market leader in Tennessee.
Signing up for DraftKings sportsbook in Tennessee will be a separate process from the daily fantasy operation, though players may be able to overlap some account information such as username and password once the sportsbook goes live in fall 2020.
Legal Tennessee sportsbooks are only accessible online, meaning bettors with internet access located anywhere within state lines can register from their desktop, laptop, or a mobile device. Tennessee bettors must be 21 or older to bet.
Generally, registrants are asked to enter a username, password and email address. DraftKings will also ask for additional information, including full name, address, date of birth, telephone number, and social security number. Like all legal sportsbooks, DraftKings keeps all private information safe and secure.
Once approved, a process that is usually instant, players have a variety of funding options. They can also use one of several welcome bonuses, though those typically come with play-through requirements or other restrictions.
Either way, DraftKings makes registration safe and easy; a new registrant on a Sunday morning in the fall should be able to place a bet on the Titans before kickoff at noon.
Deposit, Get Paid Easily
There are multiple ways to fund and withdraw money from DraftKings sportsbook, all of which are safe and easy to use. Since there are no brick-and-mortar gaming facilities in Tennessee, the company can’t offer in-person payouts at a casino cage, but with plenty of online options – players should have no trouble with deposits or withdrawals.
Most importantly, DraftKings users in Tennessee know their funds are safe. Like all regulated, legal sportsbooks in the state, DraftKings must adhere to strict regulations that track and protect player funds. Additionally, DraftKings has built a reputation in nearly every state in the country for its timely, safe, and secure daily fantasy payouts and has carried that performance to roughly a dozen states already with sports betting.
DraftKings typically offers the following options within its online cashier for deposits or withdrawals:
- PayPal: The most popular digital payment server, PayPal is an easy way to deposit/receive funds through a mobile device. PayPal users can simply select their account when prompted on the DraftKings mobile app or web site and then gain instant access to their money.
- Online Banking/ACH: A direct deposit to/from an online bank account.
- Check: For players who prefer paper checks, DraftKings will likely offer this option for its Tennessee sportsbook. Though, mailing winnings via check will take far longer than an online option.
- Credit or Debit Cards: For those who wish to fund accounts directly, DraftKings also accepts most major credit and debit cards. Visa and Mastercard are the most common. Discover and AMEX are available in some states.
- Online Banking/ACH: If your bank offers an “online bill pay” feature, it can be used to make transactions with DraftKings sportsbook.
- Prepaid Play+ Cards: DraftKings typically accepts other digital payment servers, like prepaid cards. Once the prepaid card is funded it can be used to make instant transactions.
Not every method that is available for deposits will be a choice for withdrawals, too. We’ll provide a complete breakdown of available options post-launch.
Desktop and Mobile App Overview
DraftKings takes the convenience and action of its daily fantasy product and kicks it up a notch with its sportsbook. Through both desktop interfaces and mobile apps, DraftKings online sportsbook will offer an industry-leading setup suitable for all types of bettors in Tennessee.
The desktop site’s top banners prominently splash DraftKings’ evolving bonus arsenal, highlighting not just ongoing contests and promotions but free bets, profit boosts, and other goodies for the day’s biggest events. The bet slip in the upper right corner makes betting a breeze, and quickly allows bettors to choose between singles, parlays or even round robin bets.
DraftKings’ Tennessee sportsbook will have as many (if not more) betting options than any competitor. The day’s biggest events are constantly updated, but there’s also a handy A-Z menu divided by sport so players can quickly find their preferred competition.
Not surprisingly, DraftKings also keeps the action going throughout its desktop display, posting live odds for in-play competitions next to the latest exclusive bonus offers. The company also has its own “Flash Bet” section, making live betting even more exciting. A stats hub for all the day’s biggest games gives bettors extra information to make a sharp play, including “genius facts” on trends, streaks, and other critical information.
After years perfecting its mobile-focused daily fantasy platform, DraftKings continues its outstanding digital presentation with its sportsbook app. Drop-down menus will help DraftKings app users navigate through games, bonuses, and all other parts of the mobile sportsbook. Placing a bet requires just a few touches, and scrolling through games takes just a few swipes.
The Tennessee mobile app will pack all the action of the desktop site into the convenience of a mobile app. A bettor in the Forum in Memphis or Neyland Stadium in Knoxville can easily place one of thousands of bets before, or even during a game. In addition, if a bettor has any inquiries, an easy-to-use question tab can help navigate further.
Look for the DraftKings sportsbook app in your iOS or Android App store.
DraftKings Security & Safety
After years perfecting its DFS operations and now its sportsbook, DraftKings has a top-notch security system that will protect players’ funds and personal information.
Not only does DraftKings keep its own internal security protocols, it is also regulated by the Tennessee Education Lottery, which already protects info for millions of people. Tennessee bettors can rest assured they are in good hands with regulated sportsbooks, like DraftKings.
DraftKings also goes a step further with a user account security page on its sportsbook site. Players are even given tips on how to protect their passwords. As an extra security measure, DraftKings also forbids players from sharing accounts.
In case a bettor feels their information has been mishandled or compromised, DraftKings has a dedicated support email address where customer service representatives will address concerns ASAP.

Online sports betting in the United States is a competitive industry. Most state markets are replete with betting operators, each of which is competing for your action. While most brick-and-mortar sports bettors are loyal to their book because of location and convenience, if an online operator isn’t competitive, its easy to download a new app and move your funds to a new site – quality odds and pricing is key.
DraftKings sportsbook excels in this department. General pricing and odds are pretty standard for the industry, but its moneyline odds are often a cut above. Plus, with all of the available rewards and promotions, there’s regularly a way to recoup extra value. With online betting its always a great idea to shop around to get the best prices, and that search will often lead to DraftKings.
DraftKings Loyalty Program
Like most top sportsbooks, DraftKings has a competitive rewards program. But for marquee DraftKings customers, the highest rewards level is almost impossible for any sportsbook to match.
First-time customers earn rewards points from their initial wager. Through “Missions,” players can opt in to the program that allows for free bets, odds boosts, and other valuable bonuses.
Accumulating bonus points and rewards takes time and money, but DraftKings offers arguably the best program for its top customers: DraftKings VIP. This invitation-only program gives DraftKings’ most prolific customers enhanced promotions, top-tier customer support, and access to personalized offers.
Thanks to multi-year relationships with the NFL, MLB, NBA and other major professional sports leagues, DraftKings offers all players the chance to exclusive experiences and events, such as on-field access to stadiums before games, and some of the most high-profile betting competitions in the nation.
DraftKings may not replicate the progressive tiers and compounding rewards typical of other sportsbooks, but its one-of-a-kind experiences – and the potential for the unrivaled VIP status – gives it one of the better sportsbook loyalty programs.
DraftKings earned its reputation through advertising its groundbreaking daily fantasy product, but promotions have made it one of the nation’s marquee sportsbooks.
At any moment, DraftKings offers as many as a dozen promotions for new and returning customers, including giveaways, deposit bonuses, reload offers, free bets, free-to-play events, and much more. DraftKings also has also integrated its traditional contest-style entry pools into its sportsbook which, like DFS, includes generous and frequent promotional discounts.
These are on top of the introductory bonuses and a host of other offers, such as the Refer a Friend offer (receive a free bet up to $100), and one-time promotions for marquee games. For example, in the past DraftKings sportsbook has offered a $101 free bet bonus for first-time users who wagered at least $10 on the 2020 NFL season opener. Expect similar offers, and localized deals catered to the Titans, Grizzlies, Predators and more, when DraftKings launches in Tennessee.
DraftKings makes all this even more enticing with a “Track Your Deposit Bonus.” Not only does the online sportsbook make it easy to track your bonus points, bettors have even more opportunities to earn.
Additionally, DraftKings bettors can cash out early on certain bets, allowing bettors to cut losses or secure winnings before games are decided.
DraftKings also features frequent “profit boosts,” which give players a percentage payout increase on all winnings for certain bets and events. There’s ample incentive for Tennessee bettors to keep coming back.
DraftKings’ 24-7 support system provides aid to veteran or first-time bettors. As with other states, DraftKings Tennessee will almost assuredly feature a “Contact Us” page with a live chat box, where users submit name, email, product, and question. There is also a longer form communication tool for the sportsbook, as well as an email address for further questions.
DraftKings’s FAQ list covers bet types, promotions, account management, responsible gaming, geolocation, deposit, withdrawals, and dozens of other answers. This complements a step-by-step guide on how to bet, and an even more straightforward Quick Start tutorial.
DraftKings stands out further with its thorough sports betting guides, rules sheets, and glossary, meaning a novice can quickly learn sports betting basics.
Additional Company Info
Since its 2012 launch, DraftKings has helped pioneer daily fantasy contests, freeing millions of fantasy sports players of season-long commitments to instead “draft” new teams on the daily. Like its rival, FanDuel, in just a few years DraftKings boomed as a seemingly ubiquitous advertising presence – then to a target of government intervention.
What seemed like an uncertain future for the daily fantasy pioneers as recently as 2018, was turned upside down by the Supreme Court decision in NCAA v. Murphy, which overturned the federal sports betting ban. With legal sports betting on the table, the sky was the limit.
Capitalizing on its brand recognition and existing user base, DraftKings opened its first sportsbook in summer 2018 in the state of New Jersey. Within two years, DraftKings online sportsbook was accepting wagers in numerous states around the country. In that time, DraftKings filed for IPO and now trades on the New York Stock Exchange (DKNG).
In addition to Tennessee, Boston-based DraftKings expects to expand to virtually every state that permits legal sports betting. To keep its initial leg up on a growing number of sportsbook rivals, DraftKings continues to innovate, promote, and of course, advertise in the rapidly expanding U.S. sports betting market.
Already a national revenue leader, DraftKings will be one of the first sportsbooks to take a bet in Tennessee.
DraftKings has not rested on its laurels as a marque name in fantasy sports. Pivoting from its flagship product to legal sports betting has gone more smoothly than the up-and-down years fighting for daily fantasy sports. There are no sure bets in sports nor industry, but DraftKings seems headed for relatively calm seas.
Years of regulatory and legal fights – and a growing customer base – helped DraftKings jump-start the legal sports betting expansion, but its products keep it near the front of the pack. A seemingly endless list of betting options, ever-growing promotions, and unique winner experiences make it difficult for others to keep up.
With more than two-dozen separate sportsbook operators expected in the U.S. by 2021, DraftKings must continue to innovate in order to stay ahead. A strong foundation and a successful sports betting launch in Tennessee points towards a bright future for DK.
