BetMGM Sportsbook Tennessee Promo Code and Review

MGM’s premier online sports betting brand, BetMGM, is on its way to Tennessee with an official rollout confirmed for November 1st, just in time to get your bets in for week 8 of the NFL season. Bettors around the Volunteer state will now have access to a stunning array of betting options, a stellar mobile app, and plenty of value-packed promotions… all with the backing of one of the world’s largest gaming companies.

BetMGM has already secured the first in-state agreement with a professional sports franchise, agreeing to become the official betting partner of Tennessee Titans. The site won’t be playing second fiddle in this new, online-only sports betting market.

Read on for our all-encompassing review of BetMGM and its plans for Tennessee.

BetMGM TN Welcome Bonus

When BetMGM arrives in Tennessee on Sunday November 1st, we expect that it will do so with its tried and true welcome offer, which consists of 100% up to $500 deposit match bonus. This is the same offer that BetMGM has awarded in its other states of operation, thus there’s no reason to believe that it won’t be a core promotion in Tennessee, too.

If you’re not familiar with deposit match bonuses, they’re exactly what they sound like. BetMGM will match your first real money deposit, dollar for dollar (100%), with a bonus up to a total of $500. If you elect to deposit the $10 minimum, you’ll start with a $10 bonus. $250? A $250 bonus. $500? You’ll be extracting maximum value with a $500 bonus.

The offer does come with wagering requirements, however. For every dollar in bonus money received, participants will need to bet it twice over (2x). For example, if you received the full $500 in bonus funds, you would then need to wager at least $1,000 (2x) before the bonus is converted to withdraw-able cash.

When will BetMGM Sportsbook be available in Tennessee?

BetMGM is confirmed to go live on November 1st, 2020. Rest assured, BetMGM will be available on the first day of legal betting in the state, likely alongside both FanDuel and DraftKings.

It’s been a journey for sports betting in Tennessee to reach this eventual finish line. To the surprise of many, the state legislature was able to legalize betting in May 2019. However, without any preexisting casino gaming or sports betting infrastructure, the state has had a lot to take care of. Tennessee bettors will see that it was well worth the wait as BetMGM is one of the premier online sportsbooks in the country.

BetMGM Industry Reputation

As far as industry reputation is concerned, BetMGM is hard to top. The site already offers a premium online sports betting experience in multiple states including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Indiana, and more. Tennessee will serve as a continuation of their already successful journey through the regulated U.S. market.

The BetMGM software is fluid, banking is fast, betting is a piece of cake, and their promotions will add extra value to the overall experience. Plus, the site is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International, one of the largest entertainment brands in the world. MGM is publicly traded, with properties from Las Vegas to Macau.

In the summer of 2020 MGM and its partner, GVC Holdings, announced additional financial backing of the BetMGM brand to the tune of $450 million – a clear declaration of intent. BetMGM will be a force in U.S. sports betting for years to come.

Account Creation

Before you’re able to bet with BetMGM, customers will need to create an account. To get started, use any of the links that are available here on this page to direct you to the MGM homepage. Once there you can begin the sign up process.

Who Can Bet in Tennessee?

Before we touch on the info needed to sign up, let’s discuss who is eligible to bet on sports in Tennessee. Like brick-and-mortar casinos throughout the country, all online sports betting sites are required to adhere to certain rules. For Tennessee, this includes requirements on both name and age.

  • You have to be at least 21 years old to bet on sports in the state of Tennessee.
  • You have to be in the state of Tennessee to place a bet with a Tennessee online sportsbook.

If you qualify on both counts, BetMGM will be at your disposal.

Required Info

As far as the actual account creation process, it’s not nearly as long or exhaustive as you might think. Sign up only takes a few minutes – you’ll be placing wagers in no-time. BetMGM will require a few pieces of important personal information, including:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Email
  • Date of Birth
  • Last 4 digits of your Social Security number

While requiring the last four digits of your SSN may send up red flags, it’s actually a sign of the site’s legitimacy. All legal, regulated online sportsbooks and casinos in the U.S. have to have this information, it’s non-negotiable. It is their way of making sure that you are exactly who you say you are. It provides a level of transparency that is needed for state-regulated betting.

Never fear, BetMGM will keep all of your data safe. The details you disclose will not be shared.

Deposits, Withdrawals with BetMGM

If you’re new to iGaming, or haven’t been involved in the legal, regulated market yet… you may have questions about banking. What methods are available? Is it fast? Safe? To answer quickly, there are a ton of options, it’s very fast, and yes – banking with BetMGM is 100% safe.

BetMGM’s cashier has several options that allow users to easily add funds to their account, and subsequently withdraw when ready. Each payment method will have been vetted to ensure that it is up to government standards. We anticipate that all of the following will eventually be options with BetMGM TN:

  • Credit Cards – Pretty much all iGaming sites welcome credit card deposits. The transactions are instant, with funds appearing immediately within your account – ready for use. Visa and Mastercard are the go-to credit cards for BetMGM.
  • PayPal – In the snap of a finger you can move cash from your PayPal eWallet over to your BetMGM sports betting account, and back again.
  • ACH/eCheck – Think a paper check, but you don’t have to actually send it in. With a few pieces of bank/checking info you can submit an eCheck for an instant transaction.
  • Prepaid Play+ Card – Play+ cards are easy to fund, and can be used for a variety of functions beyond deposits/withdrawals from BetMGM. There are a lot of use cases for these prepaid cards.
  • Paper Checks – We don’t expect paper checks to be available for deposits, but its often a withdrawal option.
  • Online Bank Transfer – Link your bank account directly with BetMGM using your institutions online bill pay feature.
  • PayNearMe – Even though Tennessee has no brick-and-mortar casinos, you can still deposit in-person with cash using PayNearMe. The service works in tandem with local Family Dollar, CVS, or 7-Eleven locations.

We always like to point out that not every method of deposit is also available for cashing out. For example, if you deposited with a credit card, you’ll need to select a different option for cashing out your winnings. This isn’t a seedy offshore site, though. When you need to withdraw your money, it will always be available, and you will have options as to how you want to receive it.

How to Bet with BetMGM

BetMGM’s wagering platform gives users a few different options for placing a bet. You can use one or both, depending on where you are or which device you have access to. Simply log-in to your account, verify your location, and you’re ready to go.

Bet From Your Computer

BetMGM offers a stellar web-browser based betting experience. When you visit the site you’ll first be asked to choose your state, then log-in to your account. You’ll see the current state you are betting in (which should be the state you’re currently in!) listed in the top left corner, underneath the BetMGM logo.

Like most sportsbooks, they want to make it as easy as possible to find the most pressing matches to bet on. You’ll find a “Live Games” Tab right up front, and below that there’s the “Upcoming Events” category. Either way, if you’re looking to get a bet in and time is of the essence, it won’t be difficult to locate.

If you’re just browsing the book and want to see what’s out there, the left side of the screen will have a list of all of the major sports that are available within the Tennessee market. Once you’ve found the right event, you can easily choose to bet on the spread, total, or the moneyline. Click on the game itself to see a full, expanded menu of betting choices that includes more niche options… there can be hundreds of choices on the docket.

Placing a bet only takes a few clicks of the mouse. Select the wager you want, and your betting slip will pop up at the bottom of the screen. Add your desired stake, and smash the final bet button to lock it in. The odds and potential payouts are all displayed clearly throughout, so it’s always obvious what you’re betting on, and how much you stand to win.

BetMGM Mobile App

You can find the BetMGM app within your preferred app store (for iOS users), or you can grab it through a direct download from the BetMGM site(Android users). Of note, there’s a different app for every state. To place a wager in Tennessee you’ll need the TN branded app.

In general the BetMGM mobile app is an accurate, efficient extension of its browser brethren. It uses the same color scheme, and generally groups events in the same fashion. “Live Games” and “Upcoming Events” will be the first two options when scrolling through the app.

There’s a bar along the bottom of the interface that’s quite useful for getting back to the homepage, pulling up a full A-Z list of sports, checking your bet slip, viewing your placed bets, and scanning promotions.

Placing a mobile bet is just as easy, too. Tap the side you want with your finger and it will automatically appear on your slip, ready to go.

Mobile app users can do anything and everything that computer bettors can. It’s the same product, just in a smaller, more portable package.

General Safety Measures

When you place bets on BetMGM in the state of Tennessee it will do so with the full backing of the Tennessee Education Lottery (TEL). The Tennessee Education Lottery is the government-appointed regulatory body in the state and will have its fingerprints all over the industry to make certain that all sportsbooks are operating with proper security precautions in place.

This includes a commitment to responsible gaming. BetMGM will have plenty of RG resources that customers can access directly within their account. All users can set limits on deposits, losses, and more. Self-exclusion is also an available tool if needed.

What Can Tennesseans Bet On?

Pretty much everything. While it hasn’t always been smooth sailing from legislation to rollout, Tennessee is home to a relatively open sports betting market. BetMGM users are able to place bets within the state on all of the major U.S. sports leagues, and plenty of more niche offerings. This includes (but is definitely not limited to):

  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Baseball
  • Soccer
  • Hockey
  • NASCAR
  • Golf

Events with more international popularity will also be available, like rugby, cricket, darts, cycling, etc.

In addition, while some U.S. states have elected to ban betting on in-state college sports, Tennessee did not. You’ll be able to wager on the Volunteers or the Commodores until your heart is content.

Bet Options

BetMGM brings a full list of betting options to Tennessee. This includes the relatively standard wagers like spreads, totals (over/under), and money line wagers… in addition to more exotic choices. Parlays, round robins, props, and futures are all fair game too. Hundreds of different choices will be available for each game.

Don’t forget about Live Betting, too. BetMGM will continuously be updating their live odds, so you can place to-the-second wagers on games that are already underway.

BetMGM iRewards

We’ll cut right to the chase – BetMGM does have a rewards program, iRewards, but sports bets don’t net iRewards points. Thus, Tennessee bettors won’t be able to accumulate iRewards points.

The iRewards program incorporates casino and poker activity in other states which have legalized those activities (Tennessee has not), but sports betting just hasn’t received the nod yet. We remain hopeful that program will receive a sports betting-inclusive refresh in the near future.

BetMGM TN users will need to rely on the company’s healthy lineup of promotions to fill this value void. Click the ‘Promotions’ button a the top of the browser or app to check them out.

More on BetMGM

BetMGM is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International, one of the biggest casino and hospitality corporations in the world. With roots dating back to the 80’s, MGM has a truly global presence with resort/casino properties across the U.S., and abroad.

Just a few months after the U.S. Supreme Court shot down PASPA (the federal law that restricted sports betting) in 2018, MGM announced a 50/50 partnership agreement with GVC Holdings to tackle iGaming in the U.S. GVC is a prominent UK-based iGaming operator with a vast library of brands at its disposal. Ladbrokes, Bwin, and PartyPoker are just a few of the most well known.

This joint venture was renamed as ROAR Digital in January 2019, with BetMGM serving as the company’s marquee U.S.-facing brand. BetMGM online sportsbook is now available in select states throughout the country, from New Jersey to Nevada.

With significant financial backing, high profile partnerships with major sports franchises, and A-list celebrities like Jamie Foxx starring in elaborate commercials, MGM will be a real contender within Tennessee’s sports betting market.

In Summary

Overall, BetMGM is one of the best online sports betting products in the U.S. market today. The marriage between MGM, one of the largest B+M gaming companies in the world, and GVC, one of the largest iGaming companies in the world has been very smooth. The software is great, there’s plenty of banking options, and their promotions are top-notch. Tennessee sports bettors will thoroughly enjoy their time with BetMGM.
