William Hill Launches In Tennessee To Become State’s Fifth Sportsbook

Just four days before the 68-team March Madness men’s college basketball tournament bracket and schedule is announced, William Hill has gone live in Tennessee. The launch follows regulatory approval from more than a month ago.

The app is the fifth to hit Volunteer State cyberspace. FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, and TN Action247 launched on Nov. 1, 2020. Several others are pending. Through January, those books took more than $523 million in wagers.

In an effort to stand out from a crowded field of mobile-only sportsbooks in the state, the venerable European sports betting operator is offering a remarkable $2,021 risk-free bet Wednesday for signups who are new customers — which, for the moment, anyway, is everyone in the Volunteer State.

Details matter, of course:

Adults in the state must register their William Hill TN account using promo code “WHRF.” Then within seven days of opening the account, those who sign up must place their first sports wager via the William Hill mobile app or desktop site.

If their qualifying wager is graded as a loss by William Hill, the bettor will earn a one-time free bet token equal to the lesser of: 1) The full value of the qualifying wager or 2) $2,021 (“free bet(s)”).

Free bets will be added to a participant’s William Hill TN account within three business days after their qualifying wager is graded as a loss by William Hill. The maximum free bet per participant in this promotion is $2,021.

A qualifying bet must be settled within seven days of being placed to be eligible for a free bet. Also, a free bet must be used by the participant within seven calendar days from the date it is awarded, or that free bet will expire and be removed from their William Hill TN account.

William Hill dials it up to 11

This is the 11th state where William Hill takes legal sports bets, following in the footsteps of Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, and Colorado. It also powers the lottery mobile apps in Rhode Island and in Washington, D.C.

The William Hill app includes options to deposit and withdraw funds that includes PayPal, available debit and credit cards, online banking powered by PayWithMyBank, cash with PayNearMe at convenient locations across the state, ACH eCheck, and the William Hill Prepaid Play+ Card.

William Hill lists odds for remaining Tennessee-based teams to win the national championship as University of Tennessee (75/1), Memphis (250/1), and Vanderbilt (9,999/1 entering its game on Wednesday afternoon).
