Memphis Grizzlies Tie Series Against Warriors At One Game Apiece

Ja Morant leads all scorers with 47 points as Grizzlies head to San Francisco for Games 3 & 4.

The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 of the NBA Western Conference semifinals on Tuesday – evening up the series at 1 game apiece as the matchup heads to the Chase Center in San Francisco over the weekend.

The Grizzlies 22-year old sensation Jay Morant led all scorers for both teams with a valiant effort that included 47 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists en route to a 106-101 victory.

Tip-off for Game 3 is Saturday, May 7th, at 5:30pm Pacific Time.

The victor of the best-of-seven series will take on the winner in the other Western Conference semifinal matchup between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks.

This year’s NBA Playoff semifinals feature all top-four seeded teams for both conferences. The defending champion Milwaukee Bucks are still in contention versus the Boston Celtics, while the Philadelphia 76ers are going up against the top-seed Miami Heat in the other Eastern Conference semifinal series.

Taylor Jenkins Still A Long Shot For NBA Coach Of The Year Honors

Memphis Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins would be one of the clear betting favorites to win 2022 NBA “Coach of The Year” honors if it weren’t for the Phoenix Suns’ Monty Williams – who has already won the corresponding NBCA accolade for the second year in a row.

The NBA will announce its Coach of The Year this month, and all legal sportsbooks have Williams listed as an extremely heavy favorite for the award that NY Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau earned last year.

Tennessee Volunteers Continue To Break Collegiate Baseball Records

It has been a record-setting week for the #1 ranked Tennessee Volunteers baseball team (41-4 overall, 19-2 SEC).

The Vols broke their own single season home run record earlier in the week during a 14-1 blowout victory over Alabama A&M at Rocky Top.

On May 1st, Vols reliever Ben Joyce threw a 105.5 mph fastball, which broke the record for fastest pitch in college baseball history.

Joyce’s “flamethrower” effort was even featured in Golf Digest this week.

The 41-4 Volunteers now head to Lexington for a three-game away series at Kentucky before coming back home to face the #22 ranked Georgia Bulldogs (31-14 overall, 12-9 SEC).

Last year’s CWS runner-up Vanderbilt Commodores (29-14 overall, 10-11 SEC) will also likely receive postseason consideration along with the Vols and Bulldogs.

The SEC Tournament is scheduled to begin towards the end of this month, and the Vols are heavy favorites to retain their top seeding in the postseason regional matchups leading up to the College World Series.

The NCAA Division I Baseball format tends to grant huge advantages to top-ranked teams, which means that Tennessee may be awarded the most “comfortable” pathway to the 2022 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska this June.

Nashville Predators Drop Game 1 Vs. Colorado Avalanche

The Nashville Predators are 0-1 in their bid to capture the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup. The Predators lost by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday night in Denver. The Game #2 face-off is scheduled to take place Thursday night in Denver’s Ball Arena just before 8 o’clock Central Time.
